The Syracuse University Brass Ensemble
will present its annual Pops Concert Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the United
Church of Fayetteville, 310 East Genesee St., Fayetteville,
NY. The concert will feature movie
music, including "It's Showtime" arranged by Goff Richards, Alford's
"Col. Bogey March", and music from the Magnificent Seven, the Pirates
of the Caribbean, the Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins, and the Keystone Cops. The group will also perform two J. S.
Bach pieces, "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor" and "Gigue
Fugue", as well as one P. D. Q. Bach piece, "1712
Overture". The Syracuse
University Brass Ensemble is an award-winning 30-piece brass band that performs
for official events at SU as well as several concerts each year at venues
around the region. Dr. James T.
Spencer directs the group. For
